General meeting was opened by President Mike Carney.
Motion to accept the Minutes, with reading waived, on a motion by Rich Hartz and seconded by Kevin Thomas, passed.
Coaches are in attendance for the Rules Interpretation. Larry Stockwell, Section III Girls’ Basketball chairperson, announced the Section III website is being revamped, the sectional finals will be a three-day affair on SRC at Onondaga College, and the regional matchups have changed.
For the coaches to report incidences to call Mike, 518.848-7870, for assignments concerns call Bill, 315.525-2737, and for rules questions call Jon, 315.794-4068. Varsity games shouldn’t see the same person more than three times and please list your top ten sectional preferences.

Officials’ Season Guidelines

Important Reminders for Members:
1. Daily Email Checks: Please check your emails daily for any updates. Ensure all blocks are updated through March 4.
2. Schedules: Schedules will be released around November 17.
3. School Adjustments:
• NY Mills and Remsen: 8th grade only.
• Morrisville, Notre Dame, and Waterville: No JV teams.
• Westmoreland has combined with Oriskany at all levels.
4. Season Timeline:
• November 29: Season begins in Dolgeville, USA.
• December 2 & 4: Madison Tournament, Varsity only.
• December 7 & 8: West Canada Valley Tournament, JV & Varsity.
• December 12: First TVL Modified games.
• December 27 & 28: Vernon Verona Sherrill Tournament, JV & Varsity.
• January 4: Cancer Tournament at Herkimer County Community College.
• January 18 & 19: ND Juggler Tournament, Varsity only.
• January 22: First Center State Conference modified game.
• January 30: Last TVL modified game.
• February 17: Last varsity game of the season.
• March 4: Last modified game of the season.
5. Schedule Review:
• Check if you have been assigned to back-to-back varsity games. For JV games, only contact me if you experienced prior issues with a team.
• If I missed any personal requests you made, please let me know.
6. Assignments and Issues:
• Any game assignments without a partner will be filled soon.
• If I reassign you from a game, know there is a reason behind it.
• Inform me immediately of any technical fouls, ejections, or disciplinary issues with teams or coaches. I will notify future crews if stricter rule enforcement is needed.
7. Varsity Officials:
• I’ve aimed to avoid assigning you to the same team more than three times this season.
8. Modified Games:
• Ensure games remain under control; call fouls strictly by the rulebook.
• Veteran officials assigned with newer officials, please lead by example and demonstrate proper officiating techniques.
9. Contact & Preparation:
• Save my contact number for emergencies.
• Reach out to your partner 48 hours in advance to confirm arrangements, especially if you’re a new member.
• Always receive direct confirmation from your partner—email or voicemail alone is insufficient.
10. Professional Conduct:
• Confirm game details with the school a day in advance, and notify me of any conflicts.
• Dress and act professionally at all times.
• For emergencies, contact me immediately. Texting is the quickest way to reach me.
11. Communication is Key: Let’s keep open lines of communication to ensure a successful season for everyone.

Second Reading: Article IX Dues and Fees
After the first set of assignments are released, members may decline any of those games without penalty. Any further declined games that an official shows open and the official declines the game, the official shall be assessed an Assignor’s fee of 5% for scholastic games (not including the mileage component) and non-scholastic games for $2.
If the official feels there’s a compelling reason for declining the game, the official must contact the assignor with a written reason why they’re declining the game(s). It shall be acknowledged that the assignor is open for extenuating circumstances because the day wasn’t blocked.
